The next "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" has a special edition that comes with a pair of working night vision goggles. The less special but still special edition (steel box, art book ect.) costs $80. Who knows how much the extra special edition will cost. This reporter is guessing somewhere in the $250 - $300 range. I want the goggles soo bad.

They're probably just the cheapo infra-red type, not the military-grade UV ones. Still cool, but you can get those for like 50 bucks on their own.
Yeah, why not go to the army surplus and grab some real night vision goggles...? Or find them online?
Or are these some geeky use-them-to-see-video-game-night-scenes goggles that are completely useless in the real world?
There definitively cheap infrared ones. But the 2 of you are missing the point. Its not the quality of the equipment, its the fact that its being "bundled". Ten years ago if I had told you that with the next Syphon Filter game you would get a pair of night vision goggles, would you have believed me? I wouldn't have. The "freebies" are getting ridiculous. The Gears of War 2 1:1 scale model of the gun was big, but had few moving parts. The GTA4 duffel bag and lock box were just cheap canvas and metal branded with the GTA logo. But this is real working hardware that was not available to the public ten years ago. Its ridiculous.
I suppose. Honestly though, it doesn't impress me that much. Of course they're gonna sell an expensive toy with their game, so long as someone will buy it.
And Brooke, that would be terrible, if you could only use them on the game itself. SO geeky.
So, basically, you're saying that their cheap marketing gimmick is totally working on your feeble, easily-influenced mind...?
I love you.
:P
