So I don't know if you guys heard, but NO PHONE OR INTERNETS YESTERDAY. I did not realize how big a problem this would be, I had to buy everything with cash, I had some great ideas I could not blog, I needed a map of China, and could not get one. It sucked, some really cleaver person (read asshole) cut 4 fiber optic cables all over San Jose, and maintenance crews had to work for hours to fix it. I would have found it kind of funny, but it happened to me and I can assure you it was not funny.

CONGRATULATIONS!! THIS IS THE 300TH POST!! WOOOOTTT!!!!!!
Anyway, yeah, I was reading about that, but I didn't realize where it was.. That sucks dude.. It was kinda funny, but honestly not that funny. Not only did it disrupt everyone's day but the workers that had to work hours upon hours to get everything up and running.. I mean I'm all for tom-foolery, upsetting the status quo, but this crosses the line. There is annoying, or even funny (hijacking road signs), but this is something else. I'm glad you got everything (?) back.
After reading some of the article, something comes to mind: aren't there people paid to sit and think of catastrophes and plan ways to get through them? A shitty backup plan is still better than no backup plan. And it seems that the only real security they had were the manhole covers. Honestly, anyone with a decent truck and a strong bumper could probably pull it off. "They would need a tool." Well don't you think anyone would notice if a couple of guys stopped traffic? I don't know the whole thing sounds weird to me. Either they are all really that inept, or they are trying to hide something. Either way, I wouldn't be surprised in the least.
you dont even need a truck anyone with a crowbar can move a manhole, ther only 50lbs
