Dilemma..

I'm not sure that I want the air anymore.. since os x can be loaded on an intel chip, I'm thinking of buying a really tough lenovo (yes, Jake) instead of a high priced air.. any thoughts?

Well, you know my position. If Mac OS is what's drawing you, there's really no need to go with the expensive mac hardware anymore, what with the virtualization and dual-booting. Lenovo is my favorite brand, but they're far from the only one, and of course far from the sexiest, if that's a consideration. Still, I have nothing but good things to say about mine, as you well know.

If you're really going to get a Lenovo though, I'd go with either a T series or an X301. The T is more powerful, about the same size as mine, but of course without the titanium shell. Heavier though, but probably only about as heavy as your current PowerBook. The X301 on the other hand is very light and actually thinner than the Air, but it's MASSIVELY expensive, almost as much so as the Air, since they bundle them all with a SSD. Also, it's not as powerful, but it's good enough to play back 1080P videos, so that point is kind of moot, I guess.

Oh, and it has an optical drive, as little use as that is these days. You can replace that with an extra battery that fits in the slot though, which is pretty badass in my estimation. I just wish they made it in a convertible tablet model.
